George Balanchine's celebration of Romantic Ballet, Scotch Symphony, and Ted Seymour's marvelous choreography for Creatures of Prometheus are paired together by Carolina Ballet for a stunning evening of movement and music at the Fletcher Opera Theatre!
Scotch Symphony, as its name suggests, is inspired the atmosphere of the mystical Scottish Highlands, choreographed by Balanchine to the music of Mendelssohn's third Symphony, "Scottish". An ode to the Romantic Ballet style, it's an astounding piece of ballet to witness. Creatures of Prometheus, meanwhile, carries significance as the only full-length ballet composed by Beethoven.
