Why see Carolina Ballet - Jekyll and Hyde?
A Monster Of A Man
It's time to embrace the darkness with the Carolina Ballet's striking production of Jekyll and Hyde. The work is a world premiere, featuring Shinji Eshima's new composition for the tale of dread and despair. Everybody knows the story of Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 book, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, but few have seen it performed in such a unique way as the Carolina Ballet will stage. Prepare to delve deep into the gloom of Victorian horror this Halloween!
What's it about?
Mr Utterson, a decent man and lawyer seeks to find the truth behind a trampling of a young girl. A sinister man was seen in the area, but he implicates Utterson's friend, Doctor Jekyll, and leaves the lawyer questioning what possible connection there could be between the two. A tale unlike any other unravels in front of his very eyes and leaves him questioning all that he knows.
