Taking on the classic slow tempo Spanish Bolero, Carolina Ballet revives this thrilling take on Maurice Ravel's composition as choreographed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett.
Originally written for Belle Epoque dancer Ida Rubenstein in 1928, it is widely considered Ravel's most famous composition and is a stunning display of dance-infused orchestral color that will delight audiences in February 2025, especially when paired with an anticipated world premiere from Amy Hall Garner.
Carolina Ballet began in 1997, under artistic director/CEO Robert Weiss and to date have staged over 100 world premiere ballets, and toured internationally. The company, initiated in 1928 have put on versions of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Little Mermaid and The Nutcracker earning them recognition for their broad creativity and vibrant performances.
